The Victoria Hurricanes have hired Jo Jo Barnes to lead the team for the 2019 season. Barnes has been an assistant with the team the last two years and takes over a team that had a 13-1 record from this past season.

The Hurricanes fell to the Houston Ducks in CRAFL Bowl VIII, 20-8 to end the season. Despite the final score, the Hurricanes played it close throughout.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Ducks got on the board first with a 5 yard fade route to the corner of the end zone. The point after attempt was blocked. Ten minutes later with :52 left in the 2nd quarter, Houston scored off an 80 yard TD pass. The Hurricanes limped into halftime down by two scores, 12-0.

Bryantt Wolf ended the Hurricane drought with a 12 yard scamper into the end zone. He completed the scoring with a two point conversion run. The score the rest of the quarter and well into the fourth was 12-8.

The Hurricanes had their opportunities but the Houston Duck defense kept the pressure on Wolf and Showtime Williams, who was playing his final semi professional game of his career.

With 1:05 left, a Duck defender scooped up a controversial fumble that turned into the game clincher and put the game out of reach for the previously undefeated Victoria squad.

Head coach Corey Boyd and Quarterback/WR Showtime Williams leave their semi pro football careers with one of the most successful teams in Texas.

On behalf of the team and their fans, a hearty thank you for the time these gentleman had put in. It was the greatest of rides.

The Hurricanes are heading to CRAFL Bowl VIII! Victoria had to rely on a stingy defense to win against the Austin Xtreme. Folks around the state predicted an Austin victory, but the Hurricanes proved the old addage, "Defense wins games."

The game will be played on June 16 at Rhoades Stadium in Katy, Texas with a kickoff of 7 PM against the Houston Ducks. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Last year, the Hurricanes won CRAFL Bowl VII against the Wharton County Panthers. Winning this game makes the first team in CRAFL history to win back-to-back championships.

Victoria Hurricanes advance to the conference championship game with a 42-22 win over the Lampasas Thunder.

Hurricanes score touchdowns on a 2 yrd run by Bryant Wolf and a 45 yrd run by Showtime Williams. Canes get second half scores on two Williams to Keith Hradek td passes of 30 and 40 yrds. Canes get a boost from the return game as they rack up over 350 yrds including a 95 yrd fumble return by Victoria East grad Kendre Franklin.

The #1 and #2 team in the state meet next week as the Hurricanes face the undefeated Austin Xtreme.

A message from team owner Rudy Guzman:

Want to take this time to say congratulations to the Victoria Hurricanes. We are officially the number one seed team, with that being said we have a first-round bye as we wait on the winner of the San Antonio Warriors versus Lampasas Thunder. From this point forward, we need to commit and come together because the situation is simple either you win are you go home. It's very critical that we focus on one game at a time but three more victories this year will equal another championship year. Together we can move mountains! Let's Go Cane's!!!!!!!!

The Victoria Hurricanes finish the regular season 10-0 with a 56-6 win over the Wharton Panthers.

Canes get on the board first with a 15 yrd TD run by Chris Sanders. Hurricanes dominant the Panthers with their run game and add three rushing scores. Two TDs by Donnie Butler Jr. of 15 and 20 yards and a 20 yrd TD run by Jaye Brown. Bryant Wolf replaces Showtime Williams and throws two TD passes. A 50 yrd TD pass to Keith Hradek and a 45 yrd TD pass to Butler Jr.

Hurricanes defense keeps Wharton under 100 total yards and add scores on a Kori Ford 45 yrd interception run where he hands the ball to Jeremy Church at the 5 to score and on a blocked punt by Ford who recovered the ball in the endzone for another score.

Hurricanes are the #1 seed and have a first round bye before returning to action on May 26.

The Victoria Hurricanes come away with a 32-8 victory over the Texas Armadillos. They got on the board first with a 35 yard TD run by Bryant Wolf. The teams were tied 8-8 at halftime.At halftime, the Hurricanes honored Head Coach Corey Boyd and Showtime Williams as they both are retiring at the end of the season.

The 'canes get on the board in the second half on a 45 yard td pass from Williams to David Hisquierdo. Williams get in the endzone again on a 23 yard TD run that ended with Williams flipping over a defender. A TD came on a 25 yrd td pass from Williams to Wolf. The last score from Showtime Williams connected on a 22 yard touchdown pass to Jaye Brown making the score 38 to 8. 

The Hurricanes have one more game against the Wharton County Panthers on May 12th to complete their season.

April 23, 2018

The game against the South Texas Armadillos will not only be a game between South Division rivals. The Armadillos are in a must win situation to garner the second place spot within the division.

It is also a special game for two of the Hurricane's elite, as they make a special announcement prior to kickoff with a pre-game presentation by Team Owner Rudy Guzman.

At halftime, Guzman and the Hurricanes will be honoring 56 children.

Family and friends of Corey Boyd and Showtime Williams along with all of the Hurricane fans, come out for this special football game. Kickoff is at 6:30 PM at Patti Welder Stadium.

The undefeated Victoria Hurricanes travelled down State Highway 59 to Laredo, undermanned yet still came away with a 32-0 victory over the Laredo Stars. The swirling storm of victors travelled with only seventeen players.

The Hurricanes score on a 25 yrd TD pass from Showtime Williams to Keith Hradek and 15 yrd TD from Showtime to David Hisquierdo. Victoria get two TDs on the ground. One a 28 yrd run by Showtime and a 15 yrd run by Donnie Butler Jr. Hurricanes defenensively pitch another shutout.

The boys in orange and green return home next week to take on the Wharton Panthers at Patti Welder Stadium with a 6:30 PM kickoff.

April 8, 2018

Victoria Hurricanes stay undefeated with a 42-6 victory over the Lone Star Bandits. The Hurricanes get a sensational game from Bryant Wolf with five total TDs. A 15 yrd TD pass to Akil Ellis and 65 yrd TD pass to Keith Hradek. Two 15 yrd TD runs and caught a 20 yrd TD pass from Showtime Williams Charles Diggs adds a 20 yrd TD run in the fourth qtr. Hurricanes defense continues its stingy ways allowing six points and giving up less then 100 total yards of offense.

Victoria will be on the road next week against the Laredo Stars, which will be their lost away game of the regular season. After, the Hurricanes will finish out the season with a 3-game homestand against the Wharton County Panthers, Texas Dillos, and the Houston Shuttle.

March 25, 2018

Victoria Hurricanes traveled to Houston to take on the Houston Shuttle and come away with a 76-0 victory. Hurricanes get 6 defensive TD's from Terrence Flagg, Deion Boyd, Bryant Wolf, Trey Thomas, Kendra Franklin and Kori Ford.

Victoria also got a strong offensive performances from Showtime Williams, Bryant Wolf, Tre Miles, Akil Ellis, Keith Hradek, and Donnie Butler Jr. Hurricanes improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Hurricanes will be taking a break from the games next weekend but play host to the San Antonio Bandits. Kickoff is at 6:30 from Patti Welder Stadium on April 7th.

Victoria Hurricanes move on to 4-0. After defeating the previously undefeated Texas Armadillos, 20-8. Hurricane starting QB Showtime Williams first game back and scored on a 10 yrd run and threw a 25 yrd TD pass to Keith Hradek.

Hurricanes defense was its usual stingy self. Mark Severe recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD. As the defense only allowed 150 yards of total offense.

The Hurricanes will be on the road again Saturday as they travel to Houston to take on the Shuttle .

The home opener wasn't just about the game but the fans in the stands. Team owner Rudy Guzman welcomed several special needs adults and students onto the field during halftime. Guzman and the Hurricanes continue to support the Victoria Association for Citizens with Disabilities. All were presented a medal after they had a 10 yard Run/Walk/Push players assisting.

On to the action, as the Hurricanes whirled the visiting Laredo Stars, 58-0 in the home opener for the 2017 CRAFL Bowl VII champions. More information as it comes along.

Victoria travels to Wharton County Junior High Field to face off against the 2017 CRAFL Bowl runners up, the Wharton County Panthers.

Victoria and Wharton County faced off in last years CRAFL Bowl VII so you know the action is going to be intense between the two champion level programs. Kickoff is at 7 PM and all Hurricane fans are encouraged to come fill the visitor side stands.

The Victoria Hurricanes season is fast approaching as they return to the Crossroads Amateur Football League (CRAFL). The Hurricanes, formely the Bay City Texans, took the 2017 CRAFL Championship and plan on making a return trip to the big game. To see the schedule, please look to the right of this webpage.
